  • GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ALL BIRDING TRIPS

    2019 FALL- 2020 SPRING

    1. START: Information about what time and where we start will be sent to you with the announcement of each trip.
    2. COST: Please provide your driver with $3.00 gas money for local trips and $5:00 for trips to Gulf Shores and Dauphin Island. Each person is responsible for his own lunch or other costs (entrance fees, etc). If you do not plan to stay and eat lunch, be sure your driver is likewise not staying.
    3. WEATHER: Trip leaders make the decision as to whether we cancel the trip.  Notification will be by Lynne by email as early as possible and no later that 6:00 am on the day of the trip.  CHECK YOUR EMAIL
    4. RELEASE FORM:  Everyone participating in a birding trip is required to complete and provide Lynne with a copy of your Release Form prior to the activity.
    5. LUNCH:  Following our morning of birding, those who would like to do so, will have lunch together at approximately noon (earlier if birds are not cooperating) at a local restaurant.   Bring a snack if you need a ”boost” before lunch.  Restaurant choice will be in your pre-trip information.
    6. WALKING: Since most of our birding involves walking on trails, we will let you know if the required activity will be moderate or more strenuous.  Almost every trip will allow for modifications for those who are less able to walk long distances.  For that reason, you may want to bring a light weight birding stool or chair.  REMEMBER WE WALK, STOP AND LOOK SO THIS IS NOT A RUN!
